International Board of Electrodiagnosis recently published a Field Study According to the National
Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) standards for the accreditation of certification
programs.  A Field Study is a composite and agreed upon statement from a Certifying Board which
outlines the Assessment Protocols and Patient Care Procedures that a typical certificant would use
as part and parcel to his/her discipline.  This Field Study helps to define the standard parameters of
a particular discipline or specialty field and serves to establish and credential the
discipline/specialty within the scientific and academic community
